Levitation Research
Hayashi Natsumi: She uses levitation in the majority of her photos, and, from what I can tell, she does the jumping style of levitation where the model jumps and the photographer takes a photo in a high shutter speed to make it look like they are floating. She also uses some very cool backgrounds or settings to take her photos. All of her locations are on streets or somewhere that almost anyone could find. This makes it very easy for me to draw inspiration from her as her work seems very attainable. Natsumi also plays with different lighting scenarios, like a few photos were taken at night whereas another one was taken inside of a factory. All of her photos are very similar, they all have either the same model, or models like very much alike. Along with this, the model is always in the center of the photo and is the entire focal point of the image. I really like that you can tell these photos are taken by her very easily because she has such a distinct style. I hope to make all of my levitation photos very uniform and a strong body of work like Natsumi does.
